Autumn/Winter 2017 Special Talks

On the first Wednesday of each month, we’ll be putting on a series of special talks looking at a range of subjects.

These will be held at 8pm at North Ascot Community Centre, Fernbank Road, Ascot, SL5 8LA.

Wed 4th October
A matter of conscience

In our complex world we are making decisions all the time. How often do you find yourself hoping rather than knowing if you made the right decision? When faced with an important choice, do you follow your “gut instinct” or do you try to be as rational as possible? And where does your conscience fit into the decision-making process – if at all? This talk will look at some examples from the Bible and history, to explore this topic.

Wed 1st November
Israel’s recent history: Foretold in the Bible

2017 is a year of notable anniversaries for Israel. For example, did you know November 2017 marks exactly 100 years since Lord Balfour, British Foreign Secretary, signed a declaration supporting a national home for the Jews? Or that 50 years ago, Israel captured Jerusalem during the Six Day War? This presentation will examine the ancient Hebrew writings found in the Bible, how they foretell remarkable events which have occurred in recent history, and show how this will affect your future.

Wed 6th December
What the world is coming to

What is the world coming to? So many dramatic events appear in our news. Chaos in the climate, in politics and in war. This presentation will explore some rather surprising answers from the Bible, focussing particularly on events in the Middle East and Bible prophecy. That famous verse from the book of Revelation “they gathered the kings together to the place that in Hebrew is called Armageddon” has never seemed more real – the return of Christ will surely be very soon.
